Canucks 5, Blackhawks 2
- Updated: December 29, 2017
The Blackhawks played a couple good periods, scored on the power play, and got decent goaltending from Anton Forsberg. The defense let the team down. The idea of a coaching change came up on Twitter a bit. On one hand, Q hasn’t pushed the right buttons this year or in the last two postseasons. On the other hand, maybe those buttons just aren’t there this year. How much can you really blame Q for things like Brent Seabrook not being an elite defenseman anymore? Q’s only 59, so I have a hard time thinking this is a situation like Red Berenson at the end of his tenure at Michigan where he clearly didn’t have his fastball anymore. I still think it’s too early to make a change, but if they miss the playoffs…well, then it’s time.
My picks for 3 stars
