Golden Knights 5, Blackhawks 4
- Updated: January 6, 2018
The Blackhawks got off to a really slow start, falling behind 2-0. After that, they played some really good hockey and went into the third period tied. They scored early in the period to take the lead, but unfortunately, Vegas can play really good hockey, too, and the Hawks had Jeff Glass in net, and while he’s been decent in Corey Crawford‘s absence, he’s not an NHL starter. The way things have played out with Crow’s injury, my guess is he’s got a concussion. If it’s a bodily injury that’s going to take a significant amount of time to get over, the Hawks need to either pick up a goalie or wave the white flag on this season and start getting themselves into position to compete for a title next year. Whichever it is, a decision needs to be made quickly, because Jeff Glass is not taking this team on a playoff run.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Vinnie Hinostroza, F, CHI (1 G, 2 A)
★ Reilly Smith, RW, VGK (1 G (GWG), 2 A)
