I’ve said this in just about every recap blog for games that Rundblad has played this year, but he cannot play for the Hawks anymore. He was bad on offense and atrocious on defense. The Hawks called up Erik Gustafsson, who I’m pretty excited about. It’s really hard to imagine him not playing tomorrow. The only explanation for Rundblad still being in the lineup would be that he has pictures of someone cheating on his wife.
Tanner Kero looked okay in his debut after being called up from Rockford, replacing Vinnie Hinostroza. The offense as a whole wasn’t great, but this time, the Hawks scoring only one goal was more the result of good defense and great goaltending by the opposition than poor play on their part. Q has to put Turbo back in the lineup, though. As for the Hawks’ goaltending – not great. Crawford absolutely should have had the first goal. The second one was a tough one with a lot of bodies scrambling around the net. He could have done better on the third one.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Bryan Little, C, WPG (2 A)
★★ Nikolaj Ehlers, RW, WPG (1 A)
★ Michael Hutchinson, G, WPG (45 SV, 1 GA)
