Oilers 2, Blackhawks 1 (OT)
- Updated: October 20, 2017
The Blackhawks hosted reigning league MVP Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday and McDavid made his presence felt, assisting on both Oiler goals. His first assist in particular was impressive – a behind the back pass to give Patrick Maroon a tap-in. The Blackhawks were strong on offense during the first two periods, but the Oilers were smothering their shots. Cam Talbot also had a nice night in net for Edmonton. The Hawks had to chase the game a bit in the third, but Anton Forsberg kept the game tied and got it to overtime. Late in the OT period, with the Oilers on a power play, Mark Letestu would give the Oilers the extra point when his shot ramped off Brent Seabrook‘s stick and got past Forsberg.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Cam Talbot, G, EDM (30 SV, 1 GA)
★★ Anton Forsberg, G, CHI (42 SV, 2 GA)
★ Connor McDavid, C, EDM (2 A)
