WWE Wrestlemania 38 Results

Hello, one and all! Welcome to Dallas, Texas, and welcome to “Wrestlemania!” This two-night event takes place in the AT&T Stadium and will feature six championship matches, which include a “Winner Take All” Championship Unification Match. It is going to be amazing, and as it has been tossed around a lot, stupendous! Now, as it is a two-night event, I will be making it all in one post, and with that out of the way, let’s get started.

Night 1: Wrestlemania Saturday:

  1. Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso): Smackdown Tag Team Championships: Winners and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos!
  2. Happy Corbin (w/ Madcap Moss) vs. Drew McIntyre. Winner: Drew McIntyre!

  6. Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair: Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Charlotte Flair!
  7. Kevin Owens vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin: No Holds Barred Match.  Winner: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin!

Thoughts on Night 1 of Wrestlemania:

A strong start to the event, especially with the surprise of Cody Rhodes returning. Although, there was a rumor that he would show up, also, there was a rumor that Shane McMahon would be there, instead. Glad to see Cody back.

Bianca winning the title is a welcome sight, and also glad to see she got some justice over what happened at “SummerSlam” last year. Now to see how long she can hold it. I was kind of hoping Ronda would beat Charlotte, but, at the same time, I’m getting a bit tired of people coming back, demanding and receiving a title shot, and then winning the championship, so, I understand why Charlotte won. I don’t like it but understand.

What happened to Rick Boogs was unfortunate. His knee buckled and tore his quad. Had he not gotten injured, I’m sure that he and Shinsuke would’ve won the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Only time will tell.

The Hall of Fame inductees being honored was a nice touch. Although it seemed like a small class, it was nice to see them all.  The Steiner Brothers, Queen Sharmell, Vader, Shad Gaspard, and of course The Undertaker. All deserve their place in history.

Now that Night 1 is out of the way, on to Night 2!

Night 2: Wrestlemania Sunday:

  1. RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. The Alpha Academy (Otis and Chad Gable): Triple Threat Match for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Winners and STILL Raw Tag Team Champions: RK-Bro!
  2. Omos vs.  Bobby Lashley. Winner: Bobby Lashley!
  3. Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville: Anything Goes Match. Winner: Johnny Knoxville!
  4. Naomi and Sasha Banks vs. Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley vs. Shayna Baszler and Natalya vs. Queen Zelina and Carmella.: Fatal Four Way for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Winners and NEW WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: Naomi and Sasha Banks!
  5. AJ Styles vs. Edge: Winner: Edge!
  6. Sheamus and Ridge Holland (w/ Butch) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods). Winners: Sheamus and Ridge Holland!
  7. Austin Theory (w/ Mr. McMahon) vs. Pat McAfee. Winner: Pat McAfee!
  8. Pat McAfee vs. Mr. McMahon (w/ Austin Theory). Winner: Mr. McMahon!
  9. Roman Reigns (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Brock Lesnar: Winner Take All Unification Match for the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship. Winner and NEW WWE Unified Universal Champion: Roman Reigns!

Thoughts on Night 2:

There was a mix of thoughts of Night Two. I was glad to see RK-Bro retain their championships, and even welcome Gable Steveson into the WWE. Was really glad to see Steveson shut Chad Gable up, even if it is temporary.

Glad to see Naomi and Sasha win the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Although, to be honest, I was hoping for Liv and Rhea to win, I’m all for it, as long as Zelina and Carmella didn’t retain.

The Zayn/Knoxville match was entertaining, to say the least. Gotta have at least one silly match during the event, Was surprised to see Pat McAfee hold his own against Austin Theory. Wasn’t a fan of Vince getting in the ring, but if you are the owner, you do whatever you want. Was awesome to see “Stone Cold” and Vince interact old school, again. Although, that stunner was pretty bad, Vince.

With the Championship Unification Match, I wasn’t sure who I wanted to win. However, it made sense for Roman to win, instead of Brock, with Brock being a part-timer.  And, while there were some dirty dealings involved, it was pretty much a clean win. I wonder who will step up now.

Lastly, it was also good to see Triple H come out to open the show. For health reasons, he can no longer compete. His open was short, sweet, and to the point.  The world is going to miss him competing in the ring.

Overall,  “Wrestlemania” was a good event. There were highs and lows, but you will have that anywhere. The next event is “Wrestlemania Backlash” on May 8th, from Providence, Rhode Island.  See y’all then!
