CFB Picks: 2022 Week 5
- Updated: September 30, 2022
Last week: 3-4, Season: 10-11
Lines for this week’s CFB picks are from FanDuel and will continue to be until a sportsbook wants to give us money to plug them. FanDuel isn’t giving us any money, but we used DraftKings last year and they didn’t give us any money, either, so now it’s FanDuel’s turn. Really, you should shop around for the best lines and prices. We’re using FanDuel here for the sake of consistency.
Oklahoma State +2.5 at Baylor
Baylor is 9-15 under Dave Aranda when they give up 20+ points. This space asserts that Okie State, one of the country’s best offenses, will hit that mark and then some. Even at home, it’ll be hard for Baylor to keep up.
Michigan -10.5 at Iowa
This will be Michigan’s toughest test so far, but I expect that they’ll pass it. I don’t believe Iowa’s going to be able to score enough to keep up with Michigan, home field or not.
Arizona State +25.5 at USC
Even with USC playing at home and ASU being a tire fire right now, this is just too many points. S&P+ has this as a 14-point spread. While I think Bill C.’s system is still underrating USC, I still think 25.5 is too many to lay.
Indiana +4.5 at Nebraska
Speaking of tire fires. I like Indiana ML in this one. If you’re not that adventurous, the fine folks at FanDuel will spot you 4.5. Is Indiana good? No, no they’re not. But they’re scrappy and they can score. Good teams should blow them out of the water, but that doesn’t have anything to do with Nebraska. Yes, IU has a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot, but foot-bound bullets are all that Nebraska seems to shoot these days.
