I Hate Mayweather vs. McGregor
- Updated: August 25, 2017
I hate the Mayweather-McGregor fight.
I hate that this farce is taking place. I hate that McGregor was able to work himself into this gigantic payday. I hate that this is the fight where Mayweather will pass Rocky Marciano’s mark. I hate that the Nevada State Athletic Commission is bending their rules and letting these two fight in 8-ounce gloves. I hate that this is overshadowing the fight between GGG and Canelo three weeks from now, which has the potential to be one of the best fights in a year that’s seen more than a few good ones.
But I’ll be watching. Because it’s still Floyd Mayweather doing what he does better than all but a few people who have ever walked the earth for, likely, the final time. No, he’s not in his prime anymore and no, this isn’t the opponent you’d want to see, but it’s still one more chance to see an all-time great. If you get the chance to watch Kobe play one more time, you do it, even if it is just a pick-up game.
Floyd wins however he wants whenever he wants.
