WWE Clash of Champions 2017 Results

Hello everyone and, welcome to Boston, Massachusetts and, welcome to “WWE Clash of Champions”! Tonight is the last Pay-Per-View of the year and, as the name suggests, every single championship, from the Tag Team Championships to the WWE Championship, is up for grabs. With that said, you know what time it is. Let’s get right to it:

  1. Mojo Rawley vs Zach Ryder. Winner: Mojo Rawley!
  2. Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin: Triple Threat Match for the WWE United States Championship. Winner and NEW United States Champion: Dolph Ziggler!
  3. Aiden English and Rusev vs. Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable vs. The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E (w/ Xavier Woods)): Fatal Four-Way MAtch for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Winners and STILL Smackdown Champions: The Usos!
  4. Charlotte Flair vs. Natalya: Lumberjack Match for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Charlotte Flair!
  5. Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) vs The Bludgeon Brothers (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan). Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers!
  6. Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. (Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan Guest Referees). (If Owens and Zayn loses they are fired) Winners: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn!
  7. AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal (w/ The Singh Brothers (Sunil and Samir Singh). WWE Championship. Winner and STILL WWE Champion: AJ Styles!

For the last PPV of the year, this had its highs and its lows. I had a feeling that the Nakamura/Orton vs Owens/Zayn match would go the way that it did due to the announcement of the WWE/Facebook Mixed Match Challenge competitors.  The US Championship Match was a good way to start off the night. I was really pulling for Bobby Roode, but glad to see Ziggler get the win as well. The Lumberjack Match was pretty heated and a good one as well. What is the fate of Natalya? Only Natalya knows.  I would’ve liked to see a 6 woman tag match between the Riott Squad and Naomi, Tamina and Carmella, but maybe that will happen down the road. And, having Carmella cash in her briefcase would’ve taken everyone by surprise.  Seeing AJ retain is one of the highlights of the night, the other being Ziggler winning as mentioned earlier, despite The Singh Brothers getting involved, as usual.

As for the year as a whole, the PPVs weren’t too bad. Some could’ve been better and, some were definitely better than others. With that being said and, 2017 winding down, we start to look forward to 2018 and the upcoming year and see what the WWE has up their sleeves, and it all starts with next month and the ever-popular Royal Rumble, which comes our way January, 28th.  So, until then, have a safe and Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanza, Happy Hannukka and, Happy New Year!
