WWE Money in the Bank 2020 Results

Hello once again, to not only the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, but, to WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, for this year’s “Money in the Bank”! Tonight, there will be four championship titles on the line, and both men’s and women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. Both of which will be at the same time.

How the Money in the Bank Matches will go is simple. Both matches will start on the ground floor of WWE Headquarters, and the participants will make their way to the roof to get the contracts. Simple, right?  Now with that out of the way, lets get right to it!

  1. Jeff Hardy vs. Cesaro. Winner: Jeff Hardy!
  2. New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs. The Miz and John Morrison vs. Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado) vs. The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake (w/ Jaxson Ryker)). Fatal 4-Way Match for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Winners and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The New Day!
  3. R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley. Winner: Bobby Lashley! (Originally was supposed to be R-Truth vs. MVP, but Bobby Lashley told MVP to hit the showers.)
  4. Bayley (w/ Sasha Banks) vs. Tamina. WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bayley!
  5. Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman. WWE Universal Championship. Winner and STILL Universal Champion: Braun Strowman!
  6. Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre. WWE Championship. Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Drew McIntyre!
  7. Lacey Evans vs. Nia Jax vs. Carmella vs. Dana Brooke vs. Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler: Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Winner: Asuka!
  8. AJ Styles vs. Otis vs. Aleister Black vs. Daniel Bryan vs. King Corbin vs. Rey Mysterio. Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Winner: Otis!

Tonight was a good night, even if it was short, only three and a half hours total. The matches overall, save for the R-Truth/MVP/Lashley match was entertaining. That match was just filler, I think. The Wyatt/Strowman match was really good, including the luring of false sense of security on Braun’s side. Even the Rollins/McIntyre match was really exciting. It was a nice surprise to see McIntyre reach out to shake Rollins’ hand afterward for giving him a really good match.  Those matches aside, where it really shined, was the Money in the Bank Matches themselves. The right amount of action and comedy made it fun.

As mentioned earlier, both of the Men’s and Women’s Money in the Bank matches started at the same time. The women started in the lobby of WWE Headquarters, the men starting in the gym. With appearances by Brother Love, John Laurinaitis, Stephanie and Mr. McMahon, Paul Heyman really made it great. And that ending… wow! I still can’t get over it. Asuka winning the Women’s Money in the Bank Contract wasn’t really that much of a surprise, but Otis? Yeah, Otis. That was a surprise. Not sure if it was planned or if it was an accident, but sure. I’ll go with it. Having Elias come back to interfere and make sure Corbin didn’t win was a nice touch. In doing so, made sure AJ Styles didn’t win. Again, I’m not complaining.

Once again, there was no audience at the event due to the current health crisis. Hopefully, it won’t last much longer and people can come back to events. While this one was good without it, having an audience really makes the event all that special. And on that note, the next time there is a WWE PPV will be on June, 14th for “WWE Backlash”! Hope to see you all then!
