This year’s class at tackle rivals the receiver class for strongest in this year’s draft. Your author has six prospects graded as first-rounders, with a seventh on the borderline. Penei Sewell is a top-5 talent who should be a fixture on someone’s line for the next decade-plus. Rashawn Slater could be OT1 in most classes, but has to settle for the #2 spot here. While Slater may not have ideal size, he’s an extremely strong pass blocker who will make some quarterback’s life a lot easier. Jalen Mayfield is one of the more underrated prospects. Only 20 years old, a look at his tape against Ohio State and 2020 #2 overall pick Chase Young shows what he’s capable of. Alex Leatherwood has all the physical potential in the world, but needs to do a better job finishing blocks. If he can put it together, look out. Walker Little could have been a first-rounder had he been able to play more.
