Bears NT Eddie Goldman Opts Out of 2020 Season
- Updated: July 29, 2020

Just what the title says. Eddie Goldman is opting out of the season. Goldman has had issues with asthma in the past and has decided the risk of playing this year was just too great. Goldman is a big loss for the Bears; he’s one of, if not the, most underrated players on the team. The one silver lining here is that if there is a position group that can handle a serious loss, it’s the defensive interior.
John Jenkins was brought back in the off-season (more on that when I cover off-season moves in the coming days) and would be the next man up at NT if the Bears stand pat. Bilal Nichols could also get some snaps at NT. Damon Harrison is still a free agent and, given that the Bears now have some extra cap space as a result of Goldman’s decision, would be the first call I make if I’m Ryan Pace.
