Avalanche 6, Blackhawks 3
- Updated: October 29, 2017
The Blackhawks played some pretty good hockey. Unfortunately, they waited until they were down five goals to do so. They got to that point by doing the same stupid stuff that’s gone on during this recent slump – being sloppy with the puck, being sloppy on defense, and taking stupid penalties. Artem Anisimov scored again, so yay for him. John Hayden played a nice game. Maybe stick those two together with someone (Bouma, I guess? He’s been nothing special, but he hasn’t been bad per se, and besides, what else are you gonna do?) and try Alex DeBrincat, Tanner Kero, and Patrick Sharp together. The top two lines are playing quality hockey, at least, so the Q’s-an-art is really only needed for the bottom six.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Rocco Grimaldi, C, COL (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Mikko Rantenen, RW, COL (2 G, 1 A)
★ Nathan MacKinnon, C, COL (2 G (GWG), 1 A)
