Blackhawks 3, Flyers 0
- Updated: November 2, 2017
While not perfect by any means, this was the Blackhawks’ best game in quite some time. Corey Crawford was outstanding, the special teams were improved, and the team looked to be playing with more energy. Artem Anisimov got the first goal of the game just under nine minutes into the second on a power play. Jonathan Toews made it 2-0 20 seconds later on a breakaway. Alex DeBrincat would put the game away with an empty-netter late.
The team still needs to work on not getting too fancy. Edzo (glad to have hi on the broadcast) even said as much on one occasion. Also, there were a handful of defensive screw-ups. Were Crawford not so excellent in this one, the game could have gone a very different way.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G)
★★ Artem Anisimov, C, CHI (1 G (GWG), 1 A)
★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (35 SV, SO)
