Blackhawks 2, Maple Leafs 1 (OT)
- Updated: March 19, 2017
The Blackhawks completed the sweep of their Canadian trip Saturday, beating the Maple Leafs for their 11th win in their last 12 road games. The Hawks got the better of the action and out-shot the Leafs, but after sixty minutes, the game was tied at one thanks to superb goaltending from both Corey Crawford and Frederik Andersen. It was the young gun on each team doing the scoring, with Auston Matthews finding the net for Toronto and John Hayden scoring his first NHL goal for the Hawks. The pattern would continue into overtime, with Ryan Hartman netting the game-winner.
A few things
- Marian Hossa was out with a lower-body injury. He’s day-to-day and could even play Sunday.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Ryan Hartman, W, CHI (1 G (GWG))
★★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (26 SV, 1 GA)
★ John Hayden, W, CHI (1 G)
