Blackhawks 3, Blue Jackets 1
- Updated: April 1, 2017
The Blackhawks wasted little time getting on the scoreboard with Artemi Panarin scoring 32 seconds into the game on a power play off a boneheaded penalty by Brandon Dubinsky. Nick Foligno would tie the game late in the period, though the game would be tied for only 22 seconds as Marian Hossa made a great move to get Sergei Bobrovski down and put the puck in the net. The Blue Jackets got the better of the action the rest of the way, though the gap was rather narrow as the Hawks certainly held their own. Corey Crawford came up big for the Hawks to keep the Blue Jackets off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Artemi Panarin would tack on an empty-netter.
A few things
- Vinnie Hinostroza was recalled from Rockford. I’m not sure playing on the fourth line is the best use of him, but I think he brings more to the table than Tomas Jurco does, so I’m okay with the move.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Artemi Panarin, LW, CHI (2 G)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (3 A)
★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (32 SV, 1 GA)
