Another nice performance by the Hawks in this one. Chad Johnson (not that Chad Johnson) had to be very good to keep Buffalo in this one. At the other end for the Hawks, the team did a good job of keeping the Sabres from getting many good looks. One shot got past Crawford – he didn’t play it as well as he could have, but it wasn’t a really bad goal to give up and it was the only one he gave up, so overall, I’d say he was pretty good.
The Shake An Bake line had some good chances, but no goals. Danault had an excellent game, scoring the GWG. He’s been awfully good since getting called up. The defense had some nice looks, too, including a goal by Hjalmarsson set up by a great pass by Gustafsson.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Chad Johnson, G, BUF (42 SV, 2 GA)
★★ Niklas Hjalmarsson, D, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★ Philip Danault, C, CHI (1 G (GWG))
