This was a dominating performance by the Hawks. All four lines were playing well. The top line was fantastic; Shaw had a couple nice assists, Toews had the same, plus a goal, and Hossa busted out of a scoring slump and put not one, but two pucks into the net. The Hawks even managed to chase Semyon Varlamov, who has given them trouble in the past. The defense did a nice job of limiting opportunities for the Avalanche. Crawford made some excellent saves, though he gave up three goals also. On one, he got completely faked out and ended up giving Duchene an empty net to shoot at. That one, I’m mad at. The other two, ehh, I’m not thrilled with either one, but I can live with them. Okay Corey tonight.

My picks for 3 stars:

★★★ Jonathan Toews, C, CHI (1 G, 2 A)

★★ Marian Hossa, RW, CHI (2 G)

★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (2 G (GWG))
