The Blackhawks got out to a great start in this one, with two boneheaded plays be DeKeyser leading to two Hawks goals. First, he tried to pinch with Kane coming towards the puck, Kane picked it up leading to a two-on-one with Panarin. Kane took the shot himself and beat Mrazek. Then with the Hawks on the power play, DeKeyser, for some reason, decided to screen his own goalie and Keith made it 2-0. Mrazek was none too pleased with DeKeyser at this point, but it was Mrazek who would be pulled. The Red Wings would get one of their own in the first, though the Hawks would mostly control the period. In the second, the Red Wings controlled the action, but weren’t able to get anything past Crawford. In the third, the Hawks re-took control, added two more and put the game away.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (33 SV, 1 GA)
★★ Artemi Panarin, LW, CHI (2 A)
★ Artem Anisimov, C, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
