Coming Together – Your Weekly Blackhawks Recap
- Updated: March 5, 2016
(Week of 2/28 – 3/5)
The Blackhawks went 2-1 on the week, defeating the Capitals at home and Red Wings on the road, and losing on the road to Boston.
Notes
Forwards: During the first two games of the week, the team looked great and still didn’t have Dale Weise, Marian Hossa, or Marcus Kruger. Then Weise was able to play in Boston and things didn’t go so good, but he wasn’t bad and it was the back end of a back-to-back. which the Hawks won’t encounter in the playoffs, so I would still feel good about the forward group. Turbo’s been playing like the guy the Hawks expected him to be; I have to imagine he stays at 3C next year. Fleischmann looked like a real nice pickup this week.
Defensemen: The was talk that the Hawks may pick up Dan Hamhuis at the deadline. That did not happen. But Christian Ehrhoff was solid for the Hawks. If he plays this well in the playoffs, the Hawks should be fine on defense.
Goalies: Crawford had a meh game against Washington. He only let in two, but they were both bad goals. He was very good in Detroit, however. The following night, Darling wasn’t very good against the Bruins. Between him looking rusty and the team being on the back end of a back-to-back on the road, it just wasn’t a very good night all around.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Artemi Panarin, LW (2 G)
★★ Teuvo Teräväinen, F (3 A)
★ Patrick Kane, RW (2 G (1 GWG), 1 A)
