UA-59049186-1 Blackhawks 4, Wild 2 - Good if it Goes

Blackhawks 4, Wild 2

Box score (Yahoo)

Playing their third game in four days at 11:30 A.M. on the day clocks move ahead an hour, the Blackhawks got on the board with their first shot of the game. It was Patrick Kane finding the net 51 seconds in. The next shot wouldn’t come until 3:27 later from Artemi Panarin. That one went in, too. After that, Devan Dubnyk was replaced by Darcy Kuemper. The Wild got the better of the action all game, but the Hawks found ways to get pucks in the net. Corey Crawford was fantastic and the defense gave him plenty of support. Johnny Oduya was still a little shaky as he adjusts to being back in Chicago, but I’m confident he’ll be fine by playoff time.

A few things

  • The Hawks sent Jeff Glass down to Rockford after the game. Scott Darling skated before the game, so he must be just about ready to go.
  • The Hawks signed center prospect John Hayden out of Yale. The deal runs through the end of next season. Hayden has nice size at 6’3, 223 and scored 21 goals with 13 assists this past season at Yale.

My picks for 3 stars

★★★ Mikael Granlund, C, MIN (1 G)

★★ Duncan Keith, D, CHI (1 A)

★ Corey Crawford, G, CHI (42 SV, 2 GA)
