Corey Crawford blew this game for the Hawks. Period. The guy was atrocious. Was the team in front of him as good as they needed to be after the first period? No, but they weren’t that bad. Q deserves to be blamed here, too, because it’s pretty clear when Crawford doesn’t have it and he didn’t have it tonight and anyone who’s watched this team a decent amount could tell it after the first period. If you don’t want to switch goalies up 3, that’s fine, but Darling should have come in after the Blues cut it to one. But it seems like Q doesn’t trust his backup goalies because they’re shaky when they play because they’re not game-ready because they don’t play enough because it seems like Q doesn’t trust his backup goalies because they’re shaky when they play because they’re not game-ready because they don’t play enough because it seems like Q doesn’t trust his backup goalies because they’re shaky when they play because they’re not game-ready because they don’t play enough and we could go on all night like this, but the point is that something has to break the chain and the thing that breaks it needs to be Q giving Darling more playing time.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Teuvo Teräväinen, F, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★ Alexander Steen, LW, STL (2 G)
