Ducks 1, Blackhawks 0
- Updated: March 10, 2017
Coming off a four-day break, the Blackhawks played a very good hockey game, putting 43 shots on goal. Unfortunately, Jonathan Bernier stopped them all and ended the Hawks’ seven-game winning streak. The Hawks dominated the first forty minutes, but it was the Ducks who went into the third with the lead, a result of a Corey Perry goal. In the third, the Ducks evened up the action and while the Hawks kept the pressure on, they were unable to solve Bernier. It happens. It seems to happen quite a bit to the Hawks, but that tends to be the case when you’re a marquee opponent.
A few things
- Johnny Oduya made his re-debut Thursday and played a solid game.
- The salary cap could be as high as $76 million next year, which would give the Hawks some real flexibility.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Kevin Bieksa, D, ANA (1 A)
★★ Corey Perry, RW, ANA (1 G (GWG))
★ Jonathan Bernier, G, ANA (43 SV, SO)
