Jets 2, Blackhawks 1
- Updated: December 4, 2016
The first period featured a whole lot of nothing. Seems to be a pattern in Chicago today. The Blackhawks were credited with 3 shots and I think that was generous. The second period featured more shots from each team, but no goals until Bryan Little scored on a power play in the final minute. The Jets again got the better of the action in the third until Artemi Panarin scored on a very nice pass from Patrick Kane a little over eighteen minutes into the period. After that, the Hawks picked things up. Then Andrew Copp scored 15:15 into the period to give the Jets a 2-1 lead. The Hawks would get some chances, but even with a power play to end the game, were unable to find the equalizer.
A few things
- Scott Darling was excellent despite very little help from anyone. Winnipeg got three breakaways and Darling stopped all of them.
- Tyler Motte played a nice game. Q needs to get him in the top 6. He can provide offense, but it’s going to be difficult doing so on a line with Andrew Desjardins and Jordin Tootoo.
- Jonathan Toews was still out. though he could be back any day now.
My picks for 3 stars
★★★ Connor Hellebuyck, G, WPG (25 SV, 1 GA)
★★ Scott Darling, G, CHI (30 SV, 2 GA)
★ Andrew Copp, C, WPG (1 G (GWG))
