A bad first period hurt. Stupid penalties hurt. (Hossa, whoever couldn’t count to 5, Shaw.) Bad penalty killing hurt. Crawford didn’t help.
Turbo was back at 1LW alongside Toews and Hossa and overall was just kinda meh. He had a couple nice plays. He had a couple not-so-nice ones. I’ve said this before and I will say it again: Put him somewhere and leave him there. Dano, too. But Turbo especially, as he has now played 1LW, 2LW, 3LW, 3C, 3RW, and 4RW. (He may have started at 1RW for a game or two, too, but I can’t remember off the top of my head.) How is he supposed to build any chemistry with anyone when he’s bouncing all over the place. Personally, at this point, I think I’d put Dano at 1LW and Turbo with Kruger on whatever number line you want to call that. (3 would be my guess, but I doubt it matters much.)
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Artemi Panarin, LW, CHI(1 G, 2 A)
★★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G, 2 A)
★ Mike Hoffman, LW, OTT (2 G (GWG), 1 A)
