It’s late (Foley actually ripped the NHL for this, and apparently got cut off on the NBCSN feed), so I’m going to keep this brief. Crawford has got to stop that first goal. That was a horrible misplay and that can’t go in. Otherwise, he was very good. Rundblad still stinks. I’m not surprised by this, but I’m not going to fault Q for trying him after the last couple games Rozsival’s had. Ehrhoff didn’t show much that would inspire any sort of confidence during his last few starts in the regular season, so Q’s just guessing among bad options here. At this point, I kind of think the way to go is to play Svedberg and Gustafsson, but I’m not going to fault Q if he decides he’d rather have a veteran presence out there. Mashinter – why? Just why? It wouldn’t shock me if Fleischmann sat again in game 6, since Weise had a very nice game and Shaw will be back. You can’t let up with any sort of lead. Not against these guys, and especially not in the playoffs. And finally, you had to figure that it was just a matter of time until Kane did something great, and boy was that GWG great, dancing around two Blues and putting in a backhand wraparound.
My picks for 3 stars:
★★★ Alex Pietrangelo, D, STL (3 A)
★★ Artemi Panarin, LW, CHI (1 G, 1 A)
★ Patrick Kane, RW, CHI (1 G (GWG), 1 A)
