WWE Payback 2020 Results

Welcome once again to the Amway Center in Orlando for “WWE Payback”!  Tonight, there are three championships on the line: the Universal Championship, Women’s Tag Team Championships, and the United States Championship. There is not much else to say, but to get this party started!

  1. Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott) vs. The IIconics ( Peyton Royce and Billie Kaye). Winners: Riott Squad!
  2. “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley ( w/ MVP and Shelton Benjamin) vs. Apollo Crews: WWE Universal Championship. Winner and NEW United States Champion: “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley!
  3. Sheamus vs. Big E. Winner: Big E!
  4. King Corbin vs. Matt Riddle. Winner: Matt Riddle!
  5. The Golden Role Models (Sasha Banks and Bayley) vs. Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Winners and NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions: Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax!
  6. Keith Lee vs. Randy Orton. Winner: Keith Lee!
  7. Seth Rollins and Murphy vs. Dominik and Rey Mysterio. Winners: Dominik and Rey Mysterio!
  8. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs. Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns (w/ Paul Heyman): No Holds Barred, Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship. Winner and NEW Universal Champion: Roman Reigns!

Well, that was a short turn around. It seems like it was only last week that I was posting the results of “Summerslam”. Oh, wait, it was last week! Anyways, tonight was a good night. I dare say that it was better than “Summerslam”. And, there wasn’t any monkey business to speak of. I was surprised to see Roman Reigns align himself with Paul Heyman, but let’s see how this bad guy thing goes for him. I had a feeling that Sasha and Bayley were going to lose their tag belts. Further putting that wedge between the two of them, as Sasha might challenge Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at “Night of Champions”.

I will say this, it was awesome to see Shayna handle both Bayley and Sasha at the same time. And, seeing Keith Lee beat Randy Orton was a work of art. I see big things ahead for him, as well as Big E when the time comes.

There’s not much more to say, other than coming up is “Night of Champions”, which happens September, 27th. See you all then!
