WWE SummerSlam 2020 Results

Good evening, everyone, and welcome back to Orlando, Florida, and welcome to the WWE Thunderdome! Tonight is SummerSlam, and we “won’t see it coming”. There are six championships on the line tonight: The Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships, United States Championship, Raw Tag Team Championships, WWE, and Universal Championships. So, without much further ado, let’s get going!

  1. Apollo Crews vs. MVP: United States Championship. Winner and STILL United States Champion: Apollo Crews!
  2. Asuka vs Bayley (w/ Sasha Banks): Smackdown Women’s Championship. Winner and STILL Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bayley!
  3. Andrade and Angel Garza (w/ Zelina Vega)  vs. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins): Raw Tag Team Championships. Winners and STILL Raw Tag Team Champions: The Street Profits!
  4. Sonya Deville vs. Mandy Rose: Loser leaves WWE Match. Winner: Mandy Rose!
  5. Seth Rollins ( w/ Murphy) vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rey Mysterio): Street Fight. Winner: Seth Rollins!
  6. Sasha Banks (w/ Bayley) vs. Asuka: Raw Women’s Championship. Winner and NEW Raw Women’s Champion: Asuka!
  7. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre: WWE Championship. Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Drew McIntyre!
  8. “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs Braun Strowman: Universal Championship. Winner and NEW Universal Champion: “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt!

Well, what can I say about tonight? There were some highlights, most definitely. Dominik, even though he lost, impressed me tonight. He proved that he can take a beating. Unfortunately, he lost but, still had a good match. I had a feeling that Asuka would walk away tonight with one of the championships. It became apparent as to which one, as the announcers kept emphasizing on how long Bayley has had her championship.

Now, there were two things that I didn’t see coming. Those were the simple finish to the Orton/ McIntyre match, and the ending of the Wyatt/Strowman match. The Orton/McIntyre finish was odd, seeing as how both finishers missed, and all it was to end it, was just a simple move. I wonder who will challenge McIntyre next. As far as the ending to the Wyatt/Stroman match, I was expecting to see Alexa Bliss get involved. But, she didn’t show up at all. But, someone did show up, and that someone was a returning Roman Reigns!

Another thing that didn’t show up tonight, that I was expecting to, was Retribution. You’d think that they would’ve wreaked havoc tonight but, no. Methinks that Roman is coming for the Universal Championship in the very near future.

Overall, tonight was better than average. Was it better than most shows? Yeah, especially now that they have a “crowd” in the arena to watch the action. I gotta give it up to the WWE for keeping things somewhat normal in this time With that being said, the next time there is action will be next week for WWE “Payback”! So, I guess I will see you all then!
