Duke 92, Siena 74 – Recap
- Updated: November 15, 2015
Well, its really nice to have Duke Basketball back and it became clear early that this is going to be Grayson Allen’s team. He scored 20 of his 26 points in the first half and threw down two big dunks that made the crowd explode. Amile Jefferson matched his career high with 19 points and also had 12 rebounds. Freshman Brandon Ingram, who many believe will be a 1 and done player, finished with 15 points. Matt Jones started at PG and I just don’t think that last very long as it’s clearly not the best spot for him and freshman Derryck Thornton will start once he’s ready. I don’t like overreacting to one game, especially one against a weaker opponent, but I really like what I saw from Duke last night. While the team is not as talented as last year’s squad, they are, without question, deeper.
Up next for Duke: A home game tonight against Bryant followed by Kentucky at the United Center in Chicago on Tuesday.
