Welcome Back, Duncan (And Michal)! – Your Weekly Blackhawks Recap
- Updated: November 19, 2015
(Week of 11/8 – 11/14)
The Hawks went 2-1 on the week, beating the Oilers at home Sunday, then losing at home to the Devils Thursday, and ending the week with a win in St. Louis Saturday.
Notes
Forwards: Patrick Kane continued his hot start to the season. He found the back of the net in every game this past week. I’m liking what I’m seeing from Marko Dano; he played on the top line with Toews and Hossa Saturday, as he did a bit in the preseason, and looked pretty good. Kruger moved up to 3C and centered Shaw and Teräväinen. That seems like a good combination; I really like the idea of Kruger and Turbo playing together. The LW on that line could be Garbutt as well – I don’t think that changes the dynamic of the group all that much. In any case, stick with it for a while and see what happens. The Hawks are going to need serious production from Turbo to be an elite team this year and you’re not doing him any favors bouncing him around.
Defensemen: Keith and Rozsvial returned from injury Saturday; Keith especially made his presence felt. Svedberg was a little rough earlier in the week, before being reassigned to Rockford. Gustafsson was fine – whether it’s him or Rozsival as the sixth defenseman, the Hawks would be fine.
Goalies: Crawford was less-than-spectacular against New Jersey, but was otherwise fine.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Artem Anisimov, C (2 G, 2 A)
★★ Artemi Panarin, LW (3 G, 2 A)
★ Patrick Kane, RW (3 G (1 GWG), 4 A)
