Meh-ry Christmas – Your Weekly Blackhawks Recap
- Updated: December 28, 2015

(Week of 12/20 – 12/26)
The Hawks went 1-1 on the week, defeating the Sharks in overtime at home, then getting shut out in Dallas.
Notes
Forwards: I like what I’ve seen from Danault. Kruger’s not easy to replace since he’s one of, if not the, best penalty killers for the Hawks, but I think Danault will do about as well as can be reasonably expected. Rasmussen looks like a keeper. I don’t know how long he’s been doing so, but at least lately, Hinostroza has been playing right wing in Rockford. That seems like a good idea. I like Hinostroza and think he’s got a lot of potential (plus he’s Shayne’s cousin, so I’m hoping he can get us tickets to games), but Rasmussen, Danault, and Kero are all ahead of him at C.
Defensemen: Mostly fine. I like Scuderi enough. I’m sure the Hawks will look to acquire a top 4 defenseman around the deadline (Kruger being on LTIR gives the Hawks some cap space), but I think the bigger need is another wing who can score. A team could certainly do worse than having a guy like TvR as their #4 defenseman.
Goalies: Crawford was not great. Whatever writer did the 3 stars for the San Jose game gave him the #2 star. I have no idea why.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Andrew Shaw, F (1 G)
★★ Jonathan Toews, C (1 G (GWG))
★ Patrick Kane, RW (1 G, 1 A)
