UA-59049186-1 CFB Picks: 2022 Week 8 - Good if it Goes

CFB Picks: 2022 Week 8

Last week: 2-2, Season: 18-17

Lines for this week’s CFB picks are from FanDuel and will continue to be until a sportsbook wants to give us money to plug them. FanDuel isn’t giving us any money, but we used DraftKings last year and they didn’t give us any money, either, so now it’s FanDuel’s turn. Really, you should shop around for the best lines and prices. We’re using FanDuel here for the sake of consistency.

Listen, I’ll be honest – I hate this week’s slate. This is what I’ve got. Play at your own risk.

Oklahoma State +6.5 vs. Texas

I’m still a big believer in Okie State and frankly, I think they win this one outright. To me, 6.5 is just too many to lay, even with Texas showing signs of actually being back.

Iowa +29.5 at Ohio State

Ohio State has a legit claim to the title of best team in the country, but that is an awful lot of points to lay against a quality Iowa defense, even at home. Iowa does a good job of not giving up big plays, so I’m not anticipating a 40+ point outing from OSU. If Iowa can put anything on the board, I think they’ll cover.

Houston -2.5 at Navy

Houston’s scored at least 24 in every game this year. Navy has scored that many twice, and they lost one of those games. S&P+ likes Houston by 10; the spread is less than a field goal.

Final note: S&P+ likes Maryland by 24 at home against Northwestern. Northwestern is awful, but with the spread over 14 (14.5 at time of writing) and Taulia Tagovailoa’s health in question, I can’t call it a best bet.
