Hawks – Sabres Recap
The Hawks went 4-0 on the week, winning in Winnipeg on Sunday, at home against the Kings on Monday, at home against the Canucks on Thursday, and then in Buffalo on Friday. The win over the Canucks Thursday clinched a playoff berth. Currently, the Hawks are in third in the Central, one point behind the second-place Blues and two points behind the first-place Predators, with a game in hand on the Predators.
The Hawks got some bad news this week, as rookie defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk suffered an injured wrist during a game with the Rockford IceHogs and will miss about another eight weeks. However, they got some good news on the injury front as well, as Patrick Kane skated with the team this week, and while he’s still a while away from taking contact and was only able to take wrist shots, he appears to be right on schedule for his recovery from a broken clavicle.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Duncan Keith, D (2 G (1 GWG), 2 A)
★★ Marian Hossa, RW (1 G, 4 A)
★ Jonathan Toews, C (4 G (1 GTG, 3 GWG), 1 A)
