CrOwMG – Your Weekly Blackhawks Recap
- Updated: December 22, 2015
(Week of 12/13 – 12/19)
The Hawks went 3-1 on the week, defeating the Canucks and Oilers at home and the Sabres on the road in a shootout, and losing at home to the Avalanche.
Notes
Forwards: Kane’s point streak ended against the Avalanche. In today’s NHL, 26 games is a heck of an accomplishment. I like what I’ve seen from Rasmussen. Of the four prospects the Hawks have looked at at center, I think he’s been the best thus far. Speaking of prospects at center, Danault looked solid in his season debut at Buffalo. The top line had a great week. I think a lot of that had to do with Turbo developing chemistry with Toews and Hossa.
Defensemen: The Hawks traded Trevor Daley for Rob Scuderi. I like the move. It saved the Hawks some money and brought in a solid D-man who should fit in fine in the Hawks’ system. Keith had a very nice week.
Goalies: Crawford was mostly great. I wasn’t thrilled with one of the goals he gave up to the Avalanche or either one he gave up to Buffalo, but in the latter case, he redeemed himself in the shootout.
Blackhawks 3 stars of the week:
★★★ Dennis Rasmussen, C (2 G, 1 A)
★★ Teuvo Teräväinen, F(2 G, 1 A)
★ Corey Crawford, G (.966 SV%, 0.99 GAA, 2 SO)
